Punish all Europeans for British Colonialism?
Meme Maori Meme
I
hear a lot about the current plight of Maori being directly related to
the injustices they suffered under Colonialism and how Pakeha should
cater to their every request due to that fact. Well allow me to shatter
the illusion...
I have Irish heritage. The Irish were treated
like subhumans and discriminated against for their ethnicity, being
largely Catholic and other things. They were persecuted by the English,
not only historically, but also by Anglo-Saxon Americans when the mass
migration to the USA was happening at the turn of the century.
Do you see Irish people carrying on like Maori do? Heard of the potato
famine? Over 1 million Irish were intentionally starved to death by the
British and 1 million more were forced out of their homeland.
You see MY ancestors REALLY suffered at the hands of the British. Maori
simply see my White face then declare because I'm "Pakeha" that I too
am to blame for the crimes of Imperial Britain or that I should at least
feel unwarranted sympathy. You talk about racism, that's BLATANT
racism.
The English did worse to the Irish than they ever did
to Maori! Only an idiot would try to contest this. Even today, half of
Ireland is controlled by the British, and if not for the militant
actions of the IRA they would probably control all Ireland.
Why
is it that so many fail to acknowledge that the actions of the British are
not the burden of the European race as a whole? The Irish didn't sit
around for decades and use their persecution as an excuse to achieve
fuck all - They overcame it. They triumphed over all the odds, not
complain about them.
So from all non-British Pakeha in NZ - Get
stuffed if you want us to be happy about paying for the 'injustices'
you suffered at the hands of Britain.
The British population was around 20 million in 1840. The population of Europe as a whole was 250 million.
Blaming a whole race for the actions of a few? CATEGORICALLY RACIST. Or maybe you're all just Europhobic!
